First, it was donkeys and elephants, then pandas and turtles. Now, it's doors. "Making an Entrance" is a collaborative public art exhibit of the Columbia Art Center and Columbia Festival of the Arts. Artists are invited to submit proposals for transforming a functional, everyday wood door into an extraordinary work of art. Artists whose designs are sponsored will be given a door to paint, sculpt, or adorn using any media that can withstand the outdoors for a 3 day period. Selected artists will receive a $1000 stipend. Finished doors will be displayed during the Columbia Festival of the Arts, June 9th-24, 2006. Deadline for proposals is February 10, 2006. Click here for more information.
