...and nobody came? That's what happened to me today when I went down to Silver Spring to check out the Blair Mill Arts Alley. The Alley is supposed to be open on Saturdays from 10am-4pm. That's what the website says and also what is printed on the banner that runs across the front of the alley and on the flyers you see all around downtown Silver Spring. I got there around 11 in the morning only to find that no one was there. Not one artist, not one table, not one display, not even a notice to say that the thing was cancelled. I would imagine that no one showed up due to the weather but the alley was rather clear and what snow there was would have been easily cleared. I had to go into the ice cream shop that's next door to make sure I was checking out the right place. I'd like to thank the people who run this thing for wasting my time. I would have been much more forgiving about the whole thing if there was some attempt made to show that the event was cancelled. If this is what things are like 2 weeks before Christmas, what's the point of going the rest of the year?
Lame. Very, very lame.
